How it works:
The MikroWall Hotspot Router is installed as a "plug-and-play" network appliance, connecting to the existing private LAN by standard ethernet cable. Public access devices can be connected by ethernet to the public network by cable, or ethernet switch/hub or wirelessly to the built-in wireless access point.
Administration is performed using any internet enabled workstation using a standard web browser to manage access plans and printing of access tickets.
Public access customers then enter a username and password pair to allow full access to all internet sites, with download limits and speeds as well as time limits determined by the ticket type issued.
What do you need to get started?
The MikroWall Hotspot Router and Firewall system is a simple and low cost public internet service appliance. All you need is an existing broadband internet connection. If you wish to also use the Webministrator admin application, then a permanent IP address is also required (Talk to your ISP about this)
Because the Mikrowall Hotspot Router has a built in firewall, your private LAN is fully protected from unauthorised access from the public segment, so you can even connect it!safely to your existing business or corporate LAN!
